An all round excellent place to stay. Shame we only stayed for i night. We would strongly recommend it and hope to return one day.

I have already completed the in-room written survey so you'll note my comments there. Overall we truly enjoyed our one night stay. The reception staff in particular provided such a genuine warm welcome to us both and provided us with plenty of infomration about the hotel to allow us to enjoy our stay. The rooms are absolutely lovely and are kept immaculate. The bathroom is big and very spacious with a great shower. The rooms too are very comfortable with loads of room to lay out your belongings. Arthur's Bar is truly a gem! It has a most wonderful Courtyard with a huge tv screen to show the sports. The evening we visited the hotel was unusually balmy and warm so we joined our fellow guests in sitting outside until almost midnight- sitting outside had a great atmosphere as we could hear the live band upstairs as they belted out well known tunes (we later headed upstairs to watch them in the upstairs bar). I feel I should make a special mention of a bar staff member called Shona who was particularly friendly to us (and it seemed to all the bar patrons!). It was nice to experience some old school hospitality in an Irish bar. The heel on my shoe broke and she really went out of her way to help me when I asked for assistance. Breakfast the following morning was absolutely yummy. Fresh breads and croissants with a full Irish really went down a treat after the late night we had before. I was slightly disappointed to see "concentrate" orange juice being used but other than that it was a great quality breakfast. The only reason I haven't given full marks across the board is because of our dinner in the restaurant on the night of our arrival, unfortunately this didn't quite meet our expectations. We were staying in the hotel on the "one-night wonder package which included a four course dinner and a bottle of wine" which I purchased for my partner. When we arrived into the restaurant there was no one there to greet us so we sat down at an available table awaiting service. Whne the waiter arrived into the restaurant he told us to move as this table wasn't set after previous diners. While I understand the need for us to move, he wasn't particularly polite regarding same. When taking our order I asked the same waiter for a bottle of red wine. He replied that "I don't think that is included in your offer". I felt almost like he was treating us differently because we were in the hotel on an offer. When he realised his mistake (ie he brought us a bottle of wine) he never mentioned or apologised for it. The food the night we were in the restaurant was also not quite up to our expectations ( maybe we just picked a bad night to go). In particular I think the desserts could be improved. For example the strawberry pavlova on offer tasted much more like meringue. Other than our dinner in the restaurant, I must emphasise that this hotel really exceeded our expectations in terms of hospitality, ambience, décor and value for money and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a fun break away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Leixlip itself is such a picturesque little village that’s well worth a visit!

we stayed in the courtyard as we were at a wedding for the weekend and we really enjoyed our stay here. we booked the do not disturb package which was just what we needed. the room was stunning and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. we hope to go back soon
